Why call centers struggle
Night/overnight coverage, overtime, remote staff in multiple states/provinces, and occasional union/garnishment needs make payroll messy without an operations-first system.
Scheduling + time = source of truth
Schedulaa uses approved shifts to split regular vs OT and track breaks. Shift premiums, tips, and commissions are layered in as taxable earnings.
Deductions and remittances
Union dues reduce net and map to T4 Box 44 for Canadian agents. Garnishments are flat deductions; remittance remains external.
Remote agents
Taxes follow the agent’s work location: U.S. federal + state + FICA, or Canadian federal/provincial with CPP/EI. Local/city taxes are not automated.
